ABSTRACT
Background and purpose Morphological changes of the internal carotid arteries (Mc ICA ) are frequently found during cervical ultrasound studies. However, etiology Mc remains controversial. During this study, prevalence demographic characteristics , such as kinking, coiling or looping identified by Doppler ultrasound, were analysed its relationship with vascular risk factors stroke was assessed. Methods A retrospective study performed analysing 19 804 patients who subjected to ultrasonographic between January 2000 June 2012. The data statistically SPSS ® 20 a multivariate logistic regression performed. Statistical significance accepted for P < 0.05 95% confidence intervals ( CIs used. Results present in 2678 (13.5%) unilateral 61.6% these cases. Carotid kinking 80% patients, 16% 1%. In analysis, presence related older groups (1.04; CI 1.04–1.05; 0.01), female gender (1.78; 1.64–1.94; hyperlipidemia (1.28; 1.17–1.40; thickness (1.22; 1.13–1.33; 0.01) cardiac cardioembolic disease (1.11; 1.01–1.21; = 0.02). results indicate that artery associated ipsilateral cerebral ischemic events (1.43; 1.040–1.958; 0.05). Conclusion aging, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, diabetes heart disease. Kinking ischemia.
