ABSTRACT
Abstract In response to the EU's REPowerEU initiative (COM (2022) 108) which encourages an increase in biogas production by 20% member states 2030 boost energy independence, it has become essential identify sustainable alternatives traditional feedstocks for production, especially EU Member where there is still high dependence on corn silage as main raw material plants. While silage, predominantly used European plants today, serves primarily livestock sector, alternative sources need be explored. Therefore, this study aimed evaluate potential of Arundo donax , a perennial crop, feedstock continuous anaerobic process. The yield and its quality, characterized CH 4 CO 2 H S O content, were determined during process with A. compared two mixed over 5‐month period digestion results revealed that exhibits methane content comparable indicating viable production.
