ABSTRACT
Abstract There is a methodological tendency in work on diaspora and digital media for quantitative investigations to approach static ways that contrast with theories of as dynamic cultural formation. On the other hand, qualitative, ethnographic tends not engage methods data‐driven investigation. In this article, we sketch disciplinary disconnect address it by proposing model understanding digitally mediated formations combines techniques sensitivity ethical theoretical discussions migration diaspora. Drawing interpretive epistemologies feminist research ethics, present case study analysis locally informed, Turkish–Dutch issue. We argue method produces ‘mattering maps’. This involves tracking visualizing traces an issue across web platforms (Google Search results, Facebook pages, Instagram posts) integrating face‐to‐face interview responses key actor.
