ABSTRACT
Objective The aim of this study was to describe clinical features unique supratrochlear neuralgia. Background nerve supplies the medial aspect forehead. Due intricate relationship between supraorbital and nerves, neuralgic pain in region has been traditionally attributed No cases neuralgia have reported so far. Methods From 2009 through 2016, we prospectively recruited patients with confined territory nerve. Results Fifteen (13 women, 2 men; mean age 51.4 years, standard deviation 14.9) presented lower paramedian forehead, extending eyebrow two internal angle orbit another. Pain unilateral 11 (six on right, five left), bilateral four. Six had continuous nine described intermittent pain. Palpation at third rim resulted hypersensitivity all cases. All but one patient exhibited sensory disturbances within painful area. Fourteen underwent anesthetic blockades nerve, immediate relief long‐term remission three. them received unsuccessful blocks Five were treated successfully oral drugs radiofrequency. Conclusions Supratrochlear is an uncommon disorder causing It may be differentiated from other similar headaches neuralgias based topography response blockade.
