ABSTRACT
Abstract Background Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a health risk as it can lead to life‐threatening infections. There has been rise in resistant urinary tract infections (UTIs) which the most common infection pregnancy. This be challenging pregnancy due additional need safeguard foetal development. The study's aim was explore views about AMR women who experienced UTIs Design Fifteen semi‐structured interviews were conducted UK and analysed using thematic analysis. Results highlighted two themes: conceptualization of deviation from norm, with an overarching theme ‘self‐efficacy’. show that participants concerned but uncertain effect on society compared individual's taking antibiotics completing antibiotic courses. Participants reported unsparing use justified pregnancy, behaviours like drinking adequate water ineffective at preventing UTIs. In summary, had low self‐efficacy regards tackling managing their health. Conclusion Misconceptions how affects vs individual translated into viewing future problem tackled by health‐care sector.
