Cis women's bodies at work: co‐modification and (in)visibility in organization and management studies and menopause at work scholarship

ABSTRACT
Abstract This paper reviews research on cis women's bodily self‐discipline in the workplace. We compare literature exemplifying ‘bodily turn’ organization and management studies to scholarship menopause at work, identify key themes across these oeuvres significance of blind spots each. There is little overlap between them: only eleven publications dealt with menopause. In classifying literatures using Forbes’ (2009) concept co‐modification, we distil four themes: moulding; non‐disclosure; failing; resistance, redefinition reclamation. Based this, argue for more substantive considerations studies, suggest what has offer its sister scholarship. For example, foreground how exacerbates visibility paradox facing female workers which identifies; that work should pay attention specific accommodations, refusals ‘unscripted’ aspects organizations.
