ABSTRACT
Abstract To explore an easily accessible and reproducible model for examining the effect of minoxidil on hair growth, we studied natural cycles rats from birth to 80 days age. During 1st 2nd postnatal cycles, follicles grew very rapidly size anagen were markedly enlarged. In 3rd cycle (50 approximately 100 age), duration telogen phase lasted 20 days. Topical minoxidil, 1%, 3%, or 5% solution, applied backs 23 (weaning) days, induced a remarkable shortening in cycle. Although dose‐dependent response was minimal, treated with 3% showed similar effects 4th Minoxidil, however, did not induce prolongation phase, but increased rate DNA synthesis bulb during cycles. These results suggest that specifically stimulates secondary germ follicles, resulting rapid progression follicles.
