ABSTRACT
SUMMARY The possible occurrence of DIC in active systemic anaphylaxis was investigated mice. Induction resulted the development symptoms such as thrombo-cytopenia, prolongation prothrombin time, hypofibrinogaemia, and elevated level fibrinogen/fibrin degradation products. In addition, histological examinations, massive congestion cellular infiltration pulmonary interstitia, considerable haemorrhage renal medullae were observed. All these changes nearly completely prevented by pretreatment with platelet-activating factor (PAF) antagonist (BN 50739). Moreover, same haematological morphological produced a bolus injection PAF. These data strongly suggest that occurs PAF plays pivotal role anaphylaxis.
