ABSTRACT
Contents This study assessed the effects of different incubation temperatures on semen viability and influence pooling longevity. In experiment 1, samples were collected from five dogs, individually processed (individual semen: IS) then aliquots each male pooled (pooled PS). Semen (IS PS) diluted in a Tris‐glucose‐yolk extender preserved as fresh (37 25°C) chilled (4°C). Sperm motility percentages sperm abnormalities acrosome membrane integrity for 24 h. Storage at 25 or 4°C first h yielded similar quality, but 37°C caused drastic reduction 8 onwards. 2, was same way to that 1 until inactivation. incubated 25°C became completely inactive after 3–4 days storage, while presented with more gradually decreased (mean values 40–60% days). addition, mixing only observed quality stored 4°C. 3, frozen liquid nitrogen; thawing, it 37, 25, 15 4°C, defined.
