ABSTRACT
Abstract While hexahedral mesh elements are preferred by a variety of simulation techniques, constructing quality all‐hex meshes general shapes remains challenge. An attractive hex‐meshing approach, often referred to as sub‐mapping, uses low distortion mapping between the input model and PolyCube (a solid formed from union cubes), transfer regular hex grid model. Unfortunately, construction suitable PolyCubes corresponding volumetric maps for arbitrary an open problem. Our work introduces new method computing low‐distortion deformations subsequent remeshing. For given model, our simultaneously generates appropriate structure PolyCube. From these we automatically generate good complex natural man‐made shapes.
