ABSTRACT
Patients who undergo esophagectomy with gastric tube reconstruction incur increased risk for acid reflux and duodenogastroesophageal reflux. Few postesophagectomy studies of gastroesophageal disease have included simultaneous 24-h pH bilirubin monitoring. The aim this study is to evaluate after reconstruction.Reflux symptom evaluation, endoscopy, monitoring in the cervical esophagus were performed 25 patients underwent Ivor Lewis esophagectomy, intrathoracic esophagogastrostomy, digital dilation pyloric ring as treatment esophageal cancer.Reflux symptoms severe, mild, absent 2, 7, 16 patients, respectively. Reflux esophagitis Barrett's was observed 11 1 Elevated occurred 7 (28%). recorded (44%). profile analysis identified three patterns: 4 subjects (16%) both elevated reflux; 3 (12%) only (28%) Of reflux, developed esophagitis. Although did not correlate endoscopic esophagitis, a significant correlation between and/or reflux.Reflux represented poor indication reconstruction. Simultaneous can help identifying at high well indicating cause
