ABSTRACT
Nanosized particles of strontium bismuth vanadate SrBi 3 VO 8 were prepared via the Pechini method on base citrate‐complexation route. The samples characterized using X‐ray powder diffraction ( XRD ), scanning electron microscope SEM energy dispersive spectra EDX photoelectron spectroscopic XPS and UV –vis absorption spectrum. This bismuth‐containing presents an efficient in –visible light wavelength region with a narrow band‐gap 2.36 eV indirect allowed electronic transition. It is well‐known that hybridization 6 s p orbitals Bi 3+ could result lone pair yield some very interesting properties. photocatalytic activities nanoparticles evaluated by photodegradation methylene blue MB ) under visible irradiation air atmosphere. These results indicate be potential photocatalyst driven light. To understand charge generation separation process, luminescence as well decay lifetimes was investigated same for photocatalysis.
