ABSTRACT
Abstract In this work, the sintering kinetics of pure UO 2 and 0.5 wt.%MnO‐doped was studied by a high‐temperature dilatometer heated up to 1500°C. addition, behavior pressureless technique. The results showed that MnO doping enhanced grain boundary diffusion , which can effectively decrease densification temperature promote growth. significantly reduced about 200°C with addition wt.%MnO. microscopic morphology studies there were still fine particles agglomerated, forming sintered spheres in matrix even if no severe agglomeration bimodal size distribution observed raw powder. microstructure evolution sphere during process isothermal sintering. Finally, present analyses indicated be accelerated adding or increasing temperature, thus improving inhomogeneity matrix.
