ABSTRACT
A molecular method for a rapid detection of viable Legionella pneumophila all serogroups in tap water samples was developed as an alternative to the reference (ISO). Legionellae are responsible Legionnaires' disease, severe pneumonia humans with high lethality. The is based on nutritional stimulation and increase precursor 16S rRNA indicator viability. For quantification, DNA detected by qPCR. This compared ISO using obtained from public sports facilities Switzerland. The sensitivity specificity were 91 97%, respectively, when testing compliance microbiological criterion 1000 cell equivalents per l.The new sensitive specific Leg. allows results be within 8 h upon arrival, one week or more method. The represents useful tool biology. It can used official analysis legionellae particularly short test time required.
