ABSTRACT
Abstract Epidemiological studies have confirmed salt sensitivity as a crucial risk factor for the development of hypertension. However, few investigated association between blood pressure (SSBP) and hypertension in Chinese Tibetan population. Therefore, we conducted cross‐sectional study based on population to evaluate SSBP Seven hundred eighty‐four participants with 645 without were included from five villages Autonomous Region Gannan during 2013–2014. The assessment (SS) non‐salt (NSS) was performed according mean arterial (MAP) changes by modified Sullivan's acute oral saline load diuresis shrinkage test (MSAOSL‐DST). Logistic regression models restricted cubic used examine There 554 (70.5%) salt‐sensitive 412 (63.9%) this study. Compared individuals NSS, SS had significantly increased hypertension, multiple‐adjusted odds ratios 2.582 95% confidence interval 1.357–4.912. Furthermore, significant linear trend found MAP Subgroup analyses showed stronger associations older (age ≥ 55 years old), males who took exercise less than 1 time per week. Our results suggest that is associated an population, indicating need clinicians dealing decrease
