ABSTRACT
Pterostilbene is a revesterol analog with long bioavailability and having potent anti-inflammatory activity in animal studies. In this study, we tried to scrutinize the anti-arthritic effect of pterostilbene against complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA)-induced arthritis model rats. CFA was used for induction RA, rats were divided into groups depending on different doses given. Hepatic, antioxidant, rheumatoid factor (RF), myeloperoxidase (MPO), inflammatory cytokines, anti-collagen(C)II-Ig, mediators, gut microbiota estimated. significantly (p < .001) decreased paw swelling, arthritic score, increased body weight. Besides altered anti-collagen (C)II Ig, cytokines. Furthermore, treatment helps restore ecosystem by reducing relative abundance Helicobacter, Desulfovibrio, Lachnospiraceae, Mucispirillium. Based findings, can say that has an via suppressing responses altering intestinal bacteria. PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS: Arthritis painful disease affected most people worldwide. experimental estimated CFA-induced noticeably suppressed thickness, organ index. substantially oxidative stress reaction. considerably modulated microbiota, suggesting effect.
