ABSTRACT
The CHORUS study (Chronic venous and HemORrhoidal diseases evalUation Scientific research) was conducted to provide data on patients presenting with hemorrhoidal disease (HD) in clinical practice explore the frequency which it coexists chronic (CVD) shared risk factors. This international, noninterventional enrolled adult attending a consultation for complaints. questionnaire completed by physicians established subjects' demographic lifestyle characteristics collected information HD grade symptoms signs of CVD.A total 5617 were analyzed. Symptoms commonly reported bleeding (71.8%), pain (67.4%), swelling (55.0%), itching (44.1%), prolapse (36.2%). Multivariate analysis revealed variables strongest association severity older age, higher CVD CEAP (Clinical manifestations, Etiologic factors, Anatomic distribution disease, underlying Pathophysiology) class, constipation, male gender (all P < 0.0001). Elevated BMI factor recurrence. Among women, number births had significant both presence CVD, approximately half (51.2%), strongly associated advanced (P Treatments most prescribed venoactive drugs (94.3%), dietary fiber (71.4%), topical treatment (70.3%), analgesics (26.3%), surgery (23.5%).CHORUS provides snap shot current profiles, treatments across globe. coexistence more than population highlights importance examining among hemorrhoid diagnosis, particularly when factors are present.
