ABSTRACT
Abstract Novel renewable energy technologies in the Middle East and North Africa region can be developed through microgeneration systems aiming to supply local demands a sustainable way. In this study, we carried out sustainability assessment combining two reputable methodologies which have been applied facility comprising hybrid solar/biomass micro‐cogeneration organic ranking cycle system located Morocco. We first multiregional input–output analysis where economic issues such as production of goods services generated all project's phases, well added value employment created, are estimated. Then, environmental impacts were assessed life (LCA). terms socioeconomic analysis, total shows 1.18 € 2015 /kWh. The creation 0.56 /kWh 0.05 full‐time employees/MWh, respectively. levelized cost electricity results 0.218 multiplier effect amounts 2.26. largest increase sectorial output is produced Moroccan sector job takes place agriculture from biomass supply. Regarding results, LCA climate change potential 11.8 g CO 2 eq/kWh el , more than 70% comes boiler operation specifically emissions due transportation. These help promoting micro solar‐biomass Morocco they identify benefits that counterbalance higher costs compared fossil technologies.
