ABSTRACT
The large quantity and long service time of construction has a crucial impact on the flow resources during construction, maintenance, at end life. Reducing waste disposal increasing recycling rates consequently reduce consumption primary raw materials. Hence, through material stock analysis, consumption, generation, utilization can be quantified. Previous research turnover in transportation infrastructure sector focused well-developed cities or countries showed that maintenance an contribution to input output. present study investigated anthropogenic flows stocks asphalt road network Austrian municipality. analysis was based detailed reports, regional expert estimations, simulations, literature. retrospective from 2006 2020 revealed municipality is constantly semierratic output asphalt. Maintenance reconstruction made major increase due improving layout. Asphalt outputs are reclaimed asphalt, excess dispersed deterioration. into environment often neglected but diminishes potential amount, contributes dust pollution, source microplastic. Reclaimed not utilized new mixtures municipality, as it downcycled applied granular material. Several factors, including circumstances, were identified for downcycling.
