ABSTRACT
Abstract Colic is a serious disease for horses and the nutritional management of postoperative colic patients an extremely important field. The aim this retrospective study was to analyse different factors, especially related management, that may be associated with recovery length during hospitalization after surgical intervention colic, using multivariate model. Data were collected from records presented two hospitals undergoing surgery colic. (days) outcome interest taken into account as reference parameter (short, medium, long). parameters (patient details, preoperative clinical laboratory examinations, post‐surgery parameters) subjected analysis (MCA PCoA). A ranking class dataset used calculate Kendall's tau correlation respect other parameters. Descriptive statistic identify differences in among groups (Kruskal–Wallis Dunn's Multiple Comparison Test) also performed. p value set at < 0.05. Groups not (BCS, PCV, total protein), (time 1st defecation, time end IV fluid therapy first water drinking, anaesthesia) patient details (age). comparison revealed on post‐surgical Horses short consumed higher % DM forages 24 hr compared have long reach minimum intake shorter period. Both Kendall MCA confirmed feeding had positive association recovery. Only 37 included study. From standpoint, has shown which are
