ABSTRACT
Besides heat stress, the 70 kDa shock proteins ( HSP 70s) have been shown to respond cold stress. However, involved cis ‐acting elements remain unknown. The hsp70 gene from green macroalga Ulva prolifera Uphsp70 ) has cloned, which one element HSE and low‐temperature‐responsive LTR were found in promoter. Using established transient expression system quantitative GUS assay, a series of deletion experiments performed determine functions response temperature results showed that under both indispensable, since leads complete loss promoter activity. Under although could independently, coexistence with was essential for high induced activity Therefore, synergistic effects exist between stress , extensive bioinformatics analysis mechanism is widespread algae plants, coexists widely region . Our findings provide important supplements knowledge algal plant 70s We speculated domestication artificial breeding, might serve as potential molecular targets acclimation.
