ABSTRACT
Abstract Infant and young child feeding (IYCF) promotion is a key component in the set of high impact interventions to improve nutrition. The literature provides evidence positive IYCF through various platforms, including communities. In 2009, UNICEF WHO agreed that global, “generic” package resources tools plan, implement, monitor community‐based programmes build skills workers was needed. 2010, Community Young Child Feeding Counselling Package finalized field tested under strategic collaboration between New York Nutrition Policy Practice Center for Human Services/University Research Company. includes 11 guide adaptation materials, design, planning, implementation training, monitoring, supervision, mentoring community workers, using an interactive experiential adult learning approach. rolled out from 2011 onwards by 2017 implemented 87 countries. 2013, United States Agency International Development‐funded Strengthening Partnerships, Results, Innovations Globally project started planning evaluation, study site selected Nigeria assess efficacy effectiveness on practices, knowledge, worker skills. This article describes need development Package, its content approach building, as well current implementation. Finally, it makes case evaluation which covered other papers Supplement relation evaluation.
