ABSTRACT
To analyse the associations between widths and forms of dental arches, malocclusions crowding in middle-aged adult population. The study material is part Northern Finland Birth Cohort 1966 (NFBC1966); subjects were examined at age 46 years. A total 781 adults with full dentition no orthodontic treatment history included. Overjet, overbite, cross-bite scissor bite during clinical examination. The molar relationships measured using three-dimensional (3D) models.Dental arches significantly larger males than females. Class II (CII) occlusion increased overjet (≥6 mm) associated narrow maxilla (P < .001, P .05 respectively). Subjects lateral had narrower wider mandible .05) normal occlusion. In CII occlusion, square or tapered ovoid more frequent compared to I (CI) .05). was .01).Narrow tapered-shaped related which maxilla. Malocclusions likely be found together other alone.
