ABSTRACT
Fanconi anemia (FA) is caused by mutations of DNA repair genes. The risk oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) among FA patients 800-folds higher than in the general population. Early detection OSCC, preferably at it precursor stage, critical to improve their survival. In an ongoing clinical trial, we are evaluating effectiveness programmable bio-nanochip (p-BNC)-based cytology test diagnosing potentially malignant disorders (OPMD) non-FA patients. We used this compare cytomorphometric and molecular biomarkers OSCC lines derived from brush biopsy samples a patient with OPMD normal mucosa healthy volunteers. Our data showed that expression patterns were not notably different between sporadic FA-OSCC lines. p-BNC assay revealed significant differences cytometric parameters biomarker MCM2 cytobrush obtained Microscopic examination patient's confirmed presence dysplasia. pilot suggests recognized dysplastic epithelial cells sample patient.
