Chinese Clinical Practice Guidelines in Treating Knee Osteoarthritis by Periarticular Knee Osteotomy

ABSTRACT
Unicompartmental knee osteoarthritis (UKOA) is the early stage of joint degeneration, which characterized by unicompartmental degeneration and mostly occurs in medial compartment. Pain limited motion are main symptoms, affect patients' life quality. Periarticular osteotomy (PKO) for lower extremity alignment correction an effective treatment UKOA with abnormal alignment, could relieve pain improve function adjusting alignment. At present, no clinical guidelines available PKO correction. Experts from Clinical New Technology Application Committee Chinese Hospital Association, Joint Surgery Study Group Orthopaedic Association Medical Osteoarthritis Surgeons Doctor formulated these guidelines. The Grading Recommendations Assessment, Development, Evaluation (GRADE) grading system Reporting Items Practice Guidelines Healthcare (RIGHT) were adopted to select 25 most concerning questions. Finally, recommendations through evidence retrieval, quality evaluation, determination directions strength recommendations. Recommendation items 1-5 indications contraindications correction, 6-21 surgical methods principles, item 22 describes 3D printing corrective technique, 23-25 address perioperative period, follow-up management, other content.
