ABSTRACT
Abstract COVID‐19 has recently been associated with the development of bradyarrhythmias, although its mechanism is still unclear. We aim to summarize existing evidence regarding bradyarrhythmia in and provide future directions for research. Following PRISMA Extension Scoping Reviews, we searched MEDLINE EMBASE all peer‐reviewed articles using keywords including“Bradycardia,” “atrioventricular block,” “COVID‐19″ from their inception October 13, 2021. Forty‐three articles, including 11 observational studies 59 cases case reports series, were included systematic review. Although some reported increased mortality those COVID‐19, lack comparative groups small sample sizes hinder ability draw definitive conclusions. Among patients bradycardia most often occurred severe or critical complete heart block majority despite preserved LVEF (55.9%). Pacemaker insertion was required 76.3% patients, which permanent implants (45.8%). This review summarizes current characteristics COVID‐19. Further are assess reversibility clarify potential therapeutic targets need pacing.
