ABSTRACT
Abstract The selection of genotypes best adapted to environmental conditions has traditionally focused on agronomic and grape composition parameters. However, classify the most climate change conditions, aim must be focus ecophysiological responses that will ultimately determine their performance. variability in water use efficiency 13 Grenache over three‐seasons was assessed under field at leaf, plant level. Results showed a significant effect genotype all three levels, despite large interannual there remarkable consistency among levels. Furthermore, using genotype‐specific regressions it possible identify differences intrinsic response each as function vine status. relationship between net photosynthesis stomatal conductance, well carbon isotope discrimination grapes, were also confirmed reliable physiological indicators for selecting grapevine future conditions. Therefore, proposed multi‐level methodology useful quantify intracultivar identification more less efficient within Grenache.
