Urological outcomes in children with congenital Zika syndrome: The experience of a cohort in Campina Grande, Brazil

ABSTRACT
Abstract Objective To describe the urological outcomes in children with congenital Zika syndrome (CZS) and investigate relationship between clinical findings this population. Methods This cross‐sectional study involved CZS followed up by a referral centre for microcephaly state of Paraiba northeast Brazil. The evaluation included history, urine culture results, ultrasonography urinary tract, urodynamic evaluation, following protocol proposed Costa Monteiro et al. (2017). Descriptive statistical analysis was performed addition to association correlation tests, considering variables. Results Among 88 (35.5 ± 5.5 months), 97.7% had microcephaly, 51% presented tract infection (UTI) confirmed history lab tests. number UTI episodes varied from one 14 per child. presence an overactive bladder 78 incomplete voiding 50.
