ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to estimate the number blood donors during COVID‐19 incubation period across China. STUDY DESIGN AND METHODS In study, we developed a predictive model among 34 provincial regions in Our main assumption that all ages different have stable donation intention and same infection risk. RESULTS First, estimated Wuhan city, Hubei Province, China, from December 31, 2019 March 17, 2020. Second, compared provinces addition, found if RBCs, plasma, cryoprecipitation were stored isolation until 14th day, potential risk SARS‐CoV‐2 transmission through transfusion reduced by at least 65.77% after donor safely passed period. Moreover, detection RNA carried out on platelets, would be 77.48%. CONCLUSIONS Although is low, with rapid spread appearance alarmingly high infectivity fatality rate, appropriate measures should taken health departments ensure safety clinical blood.
