ABSTRACT
Blood donation can be a potentially stressful event, leading to the activation of an acute stress response. Knowing and identifying potential stressors could help in optimizing experience. The present study aimed measure physiological psychological changes before, during after blood donation.Physiological response was assessed 70 donors. To evaluate response, pulse rate, respiratory pressure (BP), beat-to-beat BP lead II electrocardiogram were recorded. Baroreflex sensitivity calculated using available software. Psychological State-Trait Anxiety Inventory scale.A significant increase systolic pressure, diastolic mean arterial observed pre-donation period (p < 0.001). Among time-domain parameters, SDSD (standard deviation differences between adjacent rate intervals) RMSSD (root square successive differences) significantly lower post-donation 0.005, p 0.007, respectively). frequency-domain LF nu (relative power low-frequency band normalized units), HF high-frequency units) LF% percentage) before compared 0.001, 0.001 0.012, nu, LF/HF ratio also 0.05, 0.016 0.042, statistically higher period. State score among donors period.Physiological is experienced by A informative conversation should carried out with each donor identified each.
