ABSTRACT
A hybrid system is defined as a with mixed discrete event and continuous parts. Two ap- proaches for modeling simulation of systems in the context Discrete EVent System Specification (DEVS) formalism are compared. Since theoret- ic DEVS approach has been introduced during 1970ies, it completed by different extensions. The extensions checked against each other here, Quan- tized State Systems (QSS) method wrapper concept based on traditional ODE solvers. For comparison from engineering practice point view, these two approaches analyzed within scientific technical computing environment MATLAB.
