ABSTRACT
We aim to define the values of shear wave velocity (SWV) in normal parotid glands (PG) and identify modifications tissue stiffness patients with irradiated nasopharyngeal carcinoma.Sixty pertaining 30 healthy volunteers 40 pathological 20 who had underwent radiation therapy for carcinoma were included this study. The a B mode ultrasonography examination volume gland was determined. A subsequent Acoustic Radiation Forde Impulse Imaging (ARFI) performed SWV determined central periphery glandular parenchyma. The mean volunteers' group (12.02+/-0.6 ml) significantly higher than (10.3+/-0.74 (p<0.0001). lower compared (1.54+/-0.6 m/s vs. 1.76+/-0.73 m/s, p<0.0001).Elastography using ARFI technique constitutes an objective method used evaluation both post radiotherapy glands. head neck are increased, indicating greater thereby implying structural transformation parenchyma.
