ABSTRACT
The rapid launch cadence of SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket provides the opportunity to study relative consistency noise radiation. Acoustical measurements several launches have been made on and near Vandenberg Space Force Base within 1 km pad. This paper compares collocated mid-field from different missions begin understand data variability as a function environmental conditions. One location 395 m pad has measured over 5 times. comparative analysis includes time-varying levels, spectra, waveform statistics such pressure derivative skewness. Time periods particular interest are liftoff, peak noise, late into when vehicle is significantly downrange. [Work supported by USACE.]
