ABSTRACT
Real-world walking requires shifting attention from different cognitive demands to adapt gait. This study aims evaluate the effect of dual tasking on spatiotemporal gait parameters older adults. Participants were asked perform a primary complex single-walking task, consisting fast-paced linear and curved Primary task was performed separately simultaneously with motor secondary tasks. Spatiotemporal parameters, walk ratio, stability ratio measured. Apart stride length, which stood relatively unchanged, speed cadence strongly affected by tasking. Cadence seems be most impacted during as it combines challenges both Also, phase, significantly lower greater demonstrating that participants adopted cautious where maintenance took preference over efficiency.
