ABSTRACT
A consensus nested-PCR method was designed for investigation of the DNA polymerase gene adenoviruses. Gene fragments were amplified and sequenced from six novel adenoviruses seven lizard species, including four species which had not previously been reported. Host included Gila monster, leopard gecko, fat-tail blue-tongued skink, Tokay bearded dragon, mountain chameleon. This is first sequence information Phylogenetic analysis indicated that these viruses belong to genus Atadenovirus, supporting reptilian origin atadenoviruses. PCR may be useful obtaining templates initial sequencing
