ABSTRACT
Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB) has been implicated in hospital outbreaks worldwide. Here, we present a whole-genome-based investigation of an extensively drug-resistant CRAB outbreak rapidly spreading and causing high incidences mortality at numerous wards large tertiary Lebanon. This is the first study its kind region. Two circulating clones were identified using combination molecular typing approaches, short- long-read sequencing Bayesian transmission network analysis. One clone carried bla OXA-23 on Tn 2006 (ST-1305, ST-195, ST-218), another OXA-72 pMAL-1 plasmid (ST-502 ST-2059, new ST). A pMAL-2 was between two clones. The approaches implemented this obtained findings facilitate tracking scenarios Lebanon region large.
