ABSTRACT
Caproicibacterium lactatifermentans is a unique and robust caproate-producing bacterium in the family Oscillospiraceae due to its lactate utilization capability, whereas close relatives such as amylolyticum , Caproiciproducens galactitolivorans Caproicibacter fermentans cannot utilize but produce main fermentation end product. Moreover, C. can also several saccharides glucose maltose.
