Maternal Rumen Bacteriota Shapes the Offspring Rumen Bacteriota, Affecting the Development of Young Ruminants

The maternal rumen microbiota can affect the infantile and likely offspring growth, some microbes are heritable associated with host traits. However, little is known about of their role in effect on growth young ruminants. From analyzing ruminal bacteriota from 128 Hu sheep dams 179 lambs, we identified potential bacteria developed random forest prediction models to predict birth weight, weaning preweaning gain ruminants using as predictors.
