ABSTRACT
A retrospective analysis of 1324 eyes showed a statistically significant influence the extracapsular approach in preventing aphakic retinal detachment (ARD) and propensity for high myopes containing iris clip lenses to develop ARD.After exclusion association with vitreous loss ARD occurred l 9% 482 control intracapsular eyes, 4 8% 185 (both groups having mean follow-up 1 years), I1 1N% 72 highly myopic one 46 none 439 nonmyopic eyes.
