ABSTRACT
Background As an integral part of the tumor microenvironment (TME), tumor-associated neutrophils play a crucial role in development. The objective this study was to investigate plasticity N1 and N2 TME pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), along with its impact on survival association immune infiltrations. Methods primary validation cohorts including 90 radical resection patients from September 2012 May 2016 29 2018 October 2019, respectively, complete data, were enrolled. Immunofluorescence staining used identify neutrophils, N1/N2 ratio evaluate plasticity. Thereafter, between neutrophil plasticity, clinical features, infiltrations investigated. Results There significant increase compared neutrophils. Low ratios associated poorer differentiation tumors, easier lymph node metastases, higher TNM stage. median overall (OS) recurrence-free (RFS) high group significantly longer than those low group, while played opposite role. multivariable analysis revealed that prognostic indicator for OS RFS. In addition, showed correlation tumor-infiltrating CD8 + T cells Tregs. Conclusion identified as might reflect escape PDAC. On further investigation validation, our findings may be stratify varying prognoses optimize treatment.
