ABSTRACT
Jellyfish envenomation is a common problem in coastal areas all over the world; usually symptoms are self-limited with no long-lasting complications. Despite that, some jellyfish species, mainly populating Indian Ocean, renown to be potentially lethal and cases may cause severe myopathy. We report first case of rhabdomyolysis following sting Mediterranean Sea. A 17-year-old patient was admitted intensive care unit our hospital life-threatening conditions. He dyspnoeic dysphagic pain functional impairment upper lower limbs. The evidence red mark his face clinical presentation, coupled diagnostic test performed, allowed diagnosis toxidrome from venom. Treatment hydration, ventilatory support steroids led progressive improvement Our stresses importance prompt identification treatment potential determined by rises awareness on presence such venomous species
