ABSTRACT
Real-time hybrid simulation (RTHS) is recently applied to study the vibration of vehicle–bridge coupling system, where bridges and vehicle are numerical experimental substructures respectively. Inevitable time delay boundary loading imposed substructure will greatly affect accuracy stability RTHS. To minimize effects, this paper proposes a recursive prediction optimal (RPO) compensator based on control least squares. The RTHS system conducted using MATLAB/Simulink. performance RPO method compared with three traditional compensation methods (i.e. polynomial extrapolation (NI), inverse (IC) derivative feedforward (DF)) through both open-loop simulations. shows best in frequency range up 20[Formula: see text]Hz.
