ABSTRACT
Intrinsic SrTiO 3 is a quantum paraelectric, but moderately Bi-doped exhibits dielectric frequency dispersion similar to relaxor ferroelectrics. In this paper, detailed electron microscopic studies of the microstructures samples were presented. It was found that Sr sites replaced by off-central Bi, resulting in tensile strain strontium titanate (STO) lattice. samples, valence titanium mainly showed Ti[Formula: see text] characteristic. According behavior and microstructure analysis, polar nanoregions (PNRs) composed strained nanoclusters should be responsible for ferroelectric with moderate Bi content.
