Global Filter: Augmenting Images to Support Seeing the “Big Picture” for People with Local Interference

ABSTRACT
Some neurodivergent people prioritize visual details over the “big picture”. While excellent attention to detail has many advantages, some contexts require rapid integration of global and local information. A processing style can be so strong that interfere with fluid information required for rapidly displayed on user interfaces. This disconnect between context an interaction termed interference. Personalization stimuli promote a more accessible computing experience. We describe how technological interventions support shifting from features make them accessible. present two empirical studies. One study one autistic adult revealed significant shift in eye gaze fixation, other 20 children filters visually emphasize primary aspects encouraged comments about image content.
