ABSTRACT
The emerging concept of bioeconomy offers several opportunities to address societal challenges. is mainly driven by advances in microbiology, which can be applied various processes that use biological resources shifting consumer preferences and yielding new insights into resource constraints related such issues as climate land. Although expectations are high, less known about the economic importance bioeconomy. This article reviews methodological challenges measuring bioeconomy, approaches used, outcomes reported. results show still its infancy faces a number Bioeconomy cuts across sectors therefore cannot treated traditional sector economics. Economics must catch up with realities. For comprehensive assessment, information resources, compounds, product flows required. We outline innovations data storage analytical methods would realize help guide policy.
