ABSTRACT
Forty patients with prostate adenocarcinoma had bilateral pelvic lymphadenectomy, temporary Ir-192 implantation, and external irradiation. With the implant, received less than or equal to 3,000 rad (30 Gy) for A2 B1 3,500 (35 B2 C lesions in 40-45 hours. Ten days 2 weeks later, 4,000 (40 irradiation was given 4-5 using AP PA parallel opposed fields, a "box," rotation. Patients positive nodes were 5,000 (50 pelvis midline block at so that 7,000-7,500 (70-75 Gy). All free of local recurrence. Treatment tolerated well, rapid regression few complications.
