ABSTRACT
Defecography is a technique of examining the rectum and anal canal in which patient studied while sitting down rather than recumbent recordings are obtained both at rest during straining. The authors describe their findings 83 patients with dyschezia. Defecation was normal 28 patients. Prolapse mucosa seen 13 internal procidentia 23, 12 whom also had intussusception manifested as rectal prolapse. A deep rectogenital fossa associated an enterocele 16 patients; proctocele, fecal retention 5. Descent pelvic floor changes angle between were assessed. recommend defecography more physiological means assessing dysfunction.
