ABSTRACT
A 2700 h life test of a single proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) with Nafion 112 under nonsaturated humidification was conducted. In situ measurements hydrogen crossover rate through the and electrochemical active surface area (EAS) Pt catalyst, in combination polarization curves, were applied to investigate degradation mechanism. slow decrease EAS catalyst from 400 1900 running found cause slight voltage decay only at high current densities. However, subsequent dramatic results an accelerated collapse cell. © 2005 The Electrochemical Society. All rights reserved.
