Localization is one of the key techniques in wireless sensor network. The location estimation methods can be classified into target/source localization and node self-localization. In target localization, we mainly introduce energy-based method. Then investigate self-localization methods. Since widespread adoption network, are different various applications. And there several challenges some special scenarios. this paper, present a comprehensive survey these challenges: non-line-of-sight, selection criteria for energy-constrained scheduling to optimize tradeoff between performance energy consumption, cooperative algorithm heterogeneous Finally, evaluation
