ABSTRACT
The aim of the study was to evaluate concentrations soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (s-ICAM-1) and endogenous NOS inhibitor, asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA), as markers endothelium dysfunction in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM).The levels s-ICAM-1 ADMA were analysed group 56 GDM compared 25 healthy pregnant women. measured serum using ELISA tests. The groups did not differ by baseline descriptors: age (30.75 ± 6.32 versus 28.50 4.95 years, NS) (28.96 2.85 29.12 2.96 hbd, NS). more obese (BMI 27.93 7.02 22.34 4.21 kg/m(2), p = 0.032) had higher concentration C-reactive protein (6.46 6.03 3.18 3.83 mg/L, 0.029). In level lower (0.38 0.17 0.60 0.28 μmol/L, 0.001) significantly (289.95 118.12 232.56 43.31 ng/mL, 0.036) controls. The women are characterized that reflects activation endothelial cells. decreased seems be preventive limitation NO synthesis caused impaired insulin action dysfunction.
